2026 Tuesday Night SLO Pitch Rules
Notes:
- Each team is responsible to bring their own bases to each game. Bases are not guaranteed. (Including home plate)
- Please be respectful of property, clean up dugouts after the game
- After games under the lights, please vacate the BP diamond efficiently to avoid staff working longer than necessary
- Players are responsible for kids/pets during the game
- Softball Brandon will be communicating cancellations due to weather conditions, please check email regularly on game days
- Other information will be communicated via the facebook group Brandon & Area Slowpitch/Orthodox Enthusiasts
General Rules
? Games will be 7 innings
? 7 runs per inning or 3 outs, whichever comes first
? 7th inning is an open inning
? 7 men 3 woman format
? If a team is short a female, you may field 9, the 10th batter will be an auto out
? 1.20 BPF USSSA, ASA, ISA, bats will be used
? 1.21 (senior) bats are prohibited
?Rawlings Red Dot 12†(big balls)
? Footwear must be used (NO METAL CLEATS)
? Rubber cleats are recommended
? No designated hitters, if you bat, you field
? Infield fly rule is in effect
? Sliding is allowed (1st 2nd 3rd base)
? No over running bases (normal softball rules)
? Home plate will be 22 x 40
? Scoring line will extend past the front 3rd base side of home plate to the backstop. (dont touch home plate)
? Play is dead when the pitcher receives the ball in the pitching area
? No leading off or stealing bases
? Base distance of 65 ft
?Umpire your own games
Batting Rules
? Must have 3 females batting in the top 10 of the lineup
? Up to 9 men can bat in the first 12 of the lineup, then the order must alternate female/male
? Intentionally walking or throwing 4 straight balls to a male batter when a female batter is on deck will result in a double for the male batter
? Home runs will not be ran out, the batter that hit the homerun and all baserunners to go directly to the dugout
? A foul ball on the third strike will be an out
Pitching Rules
? Pitch arc must be at least 6 feet, and not higher than 12 feet
? Illegal pitches will be called a ball by the umpire
? Illegal pitches that are batted into play will be live
? No “Juking†or “quick pitchingâ€
? Pitching distance ~50 feet
