Softball Brandon is calling for nominations for our annual Awards Recognition night.  Please take a look at the awards and nominate deserving athletes, coaches, and volunteers. These awards are a way of recognizing our athletes, coaches, officials, and volunteers for all their hard work.

Nominations for the Softball Brandon Awards Recognition are open and will be accepted until September 1st at 11:59pm.  All Softball Brandon members are eligible to make nominations for awards.  To nominate an individual, please follow the link below.

Awards Criteria

Most Deserving Player: Shows a great attitude, is always respectful and coachable, and displays excellent work ethic.  This player may also have shown great improvement throughout the season.

Top player: Based on performance during the season and contribution to the team.

Developmental Coach of the year: This coach was the head coach of a Softball Brandon house league and leads by example, successfully guiding their athletes by instilling in them the values of honesty, integrity, a positive attitude, competitiveness, and a love of softball.

Competitive Coach of the year: This coach has coached in the Westman Heat programs in the current year and displayed notable achievements while instilling in their athletes the values of honesty, integrity, a positive attitude, competitiveness, and a love of softball.

Ashley Neufeld/Source for Sports Ultimate Teammate Award: One player is nominated by their head coach from each team in the U11 division of the Softball Brandon House league. This player must demonstrate the following: positive attitude, inspirational, coachable, respectful, dedicated, work ethic.

Softball Brandon House League Team of the Year

Team of the year must demonstrate sportsmanship, respect, and hard work.  Notable improvement and success can also be considered.

Grassroots Umpire of the year: (Selected by a committee appointed by the Chief Umpire) This umpire is a first or second year umpire who umpired Softball Brandon games and who demonstrates excellent beginner skills and future potential. 

Competitive Umpire of the year: (Selected by a committee appointed by the Chief Umpire) This umpire is from the WSA region and umps at the AAA level or above for 3 years or less, demonstrates respect for everyone involved in the game, is a positive role model by sharing their expertise, and is continuously working to better themselves as an umpire.

Volunteer of the year: This award was created to recognize a volunteer who has contributed to Softball Brandon (outside of coaching and officiating). This person has dedicated many hours of volunteer time to help foster the sport of softball in Brandon.
